The First Curved Road

Everyone’s crying like pouring rain,

Hopeless like everlasting pain,

Happiness just randomly flew away,

Kids just watch, confused what to say,

Seasonal talks of what happened yesterday,

What a bitter feeling in the heart,

Unforgettable, incurable moment of death,

My heart ailing my brain trying not to feel alone and aggrieved,

My hand bruised, my eyes crushed, my leg grazed, my heart wounded,

Everybody thought about the days gone by,

Countlessly flying higher and even more high,

But the worst part was when my grandma’s life had passed by,

But it was only the first curved road.

Laying there with a cold heart,

Her finally resting, putting all problems aside.

  1. Whoa that is really awesome great job!! I’m guessing that is a true story about your grandmother if so I’m sorry for you lost

  2. This is beautiful. I can relate to many of the images in your poem- I lost my grandmother last month. I’m wondering why you titled it “The First Curved Road”? Was there a second or a third? What does the curved road symbolize to you?

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Mrs. Garber! What I meant about my title “The First Curved Road” was the fact my grandma’s death was the first time I really realized you can lose people. So, my grandma’s death taught me to not take anyone for granted. The road representing my life, and the curve or turn representing drastic changes that that took place in my life; making a curved road. All in all, thank you for checking out my blog and sorry for your loss, I know how you feel.:)

  3. I really like how you decided to write poem about your grandma passing and I think it’s heart warming. I also think it’s a good idea to write a poem about a passing because it shows/describes the feelings you will go through when someone in your family passing.
